Didn't get the 1st but got the 2nd Prize in the 5th Gustavo Gomez Ardila Composition Competition - based on Colombian Folk Rhythms - in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
La Patasola is one of the many Colombian myths and female folklore beings. It first appears in a beautiful form luring men into the deep jungle. There she reveals her true self as a creature with a lust for human flesh and blood. It sure was fun writing and learning new things about Colombian folk culture.
Any conductor and choir friends who want to premiere this exciting and rhythmic work? B2 lowest note - F2 S1 highest note - A5 dur 2'50"
