I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to perform once again in one of the world’s most stunning venues—the National Concert Hall and Theater in Taipei. Sharing the stage with the Ching Yun Choir was an extraordinary experience, as both ensembles exchanged music drawn from our respective cultures. A few days later, the journey continued with the Male Ensemble Philippines’ solo concert at the Recital Hall—truly a series of unforgettable nights.
One of the greatest highlights of the trip was the world premiere of my work, Oh, Where Music Touches Spirit, performed by both ensembles. There is always a special kind of magic in hearing your music come to life for the very first time—when notes leave the page and finally breathe through human voices.
Before all of this, we also had a wonderful time in Kaohsiung working with the Lux Junior Singers—teaching, learning, and ultimately performing a Filipino song together in concert. Moments like these made the entire journey even more meaningful.
After the Male Ensemble Philippines’ tour in Taiwan, I had the wonderful opportunity to connect more deeply with the choral community—leading a score-reading session with choristers and conductors, and conducting a workshop in Taitung with the Naluwan Vocal Group under the direction of Scotty Cheng.

We breezed through six songs during my very first reading session in Taipei, graciously hosted by the wonderful Ching Yun Choir. It was such a joy working with passionate Taiwanese choristers! Sharing the stories behind my music is always a pleasure—and even more meaningful knowing it might inspire others to write for their own choirs. And what better way to end the reading session and workshop than with a food trip to the night market?
Thank you very much — 非常感謝! Until next time!
